OAuth 2.0 Implementation
18/Dec/2024
Dear Invoice and Visibility API Users,
We are enhancing the security of our APIs to ensure the reliability and safety of your integrations. Starting on December 18th, 2024, OAuth 2.0 authentication will be required for all new integrations using the Invoice and Visibility APIs. Existing users will transition gradually as part of this update to strengthen API security.
Required Actions:
To ensure uninterrupted operation, active users must update their systems to support OAuth 2.0 before the transition period ends. Detailed instructions are available in the Migration Guide on DSV Developer Portal.
Transition Period:
We will continue supporting the previous authentication method (Basic Auth) until September 1st, 2025, allowing a 9-month migration period. Please note that all APIs currently in production will continue functioning with Basic Auth during this period.
Future Updates to Other APIs:
Please note that this is the initial phase of the OAuth 2.0 implementation. The generic APIs currently available on the DSV Developer Portal, including:
• Booking
• Labels
• Upload/Download
• Tracking
Remain in the development phase for transitioning to OAuth 2.0. These APIs will not be affected at this time. However, in the future, they will also adopt OAuth 2.0 to enhance security and standardization.
We’ll keep you informed as these updates are rolled out.
To assist you further, we invite you to explore the DSV Developer Portal for detailed guides and resources, including specific information about OAuth 2.0 and Bearer tokens.

Dear API user,
We are introducing a new validation on weight for all bookings made via the API starting from 5th of December 2024. This update will ensure that the Booking API is validated on the same criteria as in myDSV, enhancing consistency and reliability in our services.

• The minimum weight allowed will be 0.1 kg or 0.1 LTR.
• Only a single digit is permissible after the decimal point (e.g., 0.1 kg, 20.5 kg, 1.1 kg, 100.9 LTR).
Error Messages:
• Dangerous good lines do not meet DSV minimum weight criteria on 0.1 kg/LTR.
• Only a single digit is permissible after the decimal point, in the Dangerous good weight.
Package Weight Validation (Only Mode Of Transport - Road):
• The minimum weight allowed will be 1 kg or 1 LTR.
• No decimal is allowed after the decimal point.
Error Messages:
• Good lines do not meet DSV minimum weight criteria of 1 kg/LTR.
• No digit is permissible after the decimal point, in the package weight.
Additional Weight Validation (All Modes of Transport):
• Gross weight cannot exceed Total weight.
• Net weight cannot exceed Total weight.
For dangerous goods:
• Dangerous goods: Gross weight cannot exceed Total weight.
• Dangerous goods: Net weight cannot exceed Dangerous goods gross weight.
These updates are designed to improve the accuracy and reliability of your ROAD bookings, ensuring compliance with our weight validation criteria.
